“ ‘It’s not only vulnerable animals that need our support: so do the people who are there for them day and night. We try to make their efforts a little easier by supporting their work financially’ ”
Our purpose is to provide financial and operational support for organisations dedicated to the long-term care and medical rehabilitation of animals that have been rescued, abandoned and have nowhere else to go, or animals that have been impounded. They may be pets, farm animals or wild animals, in Europe and Africa. Donations made by Stichting Sjnoebel may be used for the day-to-day running of the organisation, for medical and general care, housing, rehabilitation and building new accommodation, as well as education and support in the area of enforcement and detection.
Who we are
We are Danielle and Patrick. In 1991, we adopted our first black cat from the rescue shelter and we called him: Sjnoebel. In Limburg dialect, ‘sjnoebel’ basically means something huggable and cuddly. He was to be the first of many wonderful animal companions, almost all of them rescues and animals with their own stories. So that animals everywhere can have a warm place to call home, we want to help animals that have nowhere else to go. As well as offering our help and volunteering, through this foundation we want to support others who are doing amazing work. Stichting Sjnoebel (founded in 2024) is named after our first cat, but also expresses the hugs we want to share with all animals and those who care for them.
